What to do for pregnancy in PCOS?

Infertility in women is very common due to PCOS. It is advisable to make lifestyle changes to increase fertility naturally.

If women want to become pregnant even after the problem of PCOS, they should go to a fertility doctor. The doctor may advise the patient to begin ovulation induction medicine with premature intercourse or intrauterine insemination (IUI), depending on the initial test.

It is important for these treatment options to have the fallopian tube open and that the sperm count should be normal.

IUI – In this process, the sperm is transferred to the woman’s uterus at the time of ovulation after cleaning them in the lab.

If after some attempts, intercourse or even after IUI does not conceive for any reason, the doctor may recommend in vitro fertilization (IVF). Despite having fallopian tube blockage, it can be conceived.

IVF – In this process, the egg is fertilized in the lab along with the sperm and after the process of fertilization the embryo that is formed is transferred to the woman’s uterus.

Dr Richa Singh IVF expert in Lucknow states that most women suffering from PCOS can become pregnant with the right treatment. This may include a course of clomiphene or metformin depending on the symptoms and condition. Even after this, In Vitro Fertilization is also the best option for women who are not pregnant with PCOS.
